About Launch Technologies

Who is Launch Technologies?

Launch Technologies provides business IT services to small and mid-sized companies across the Portland metro and Southwest Washington. We support both Apple and Windows environments with equal depth, which is uncommon in the Portland MSP market. Our work spans managed IT, cybersecurity, networks, cloud platforms, project work, and on-site support, backed by 35+ years of local technology experience through our sister company MacForce.

For a complete list of what we do, see our business IT services page.

What's the relationship between Launch Technologies, MacForce, and Rocket Squad?

We're a family of locally-owned tech companies operating from the same Portland office on NE Broadway. Launch Technologies provides managed IT services to businesses across Apple and Windows platforms. MacForce is Portland's only independent Apple Authorized Service Provider, handling Apple repairs and Apple support. Rocket Squad handles PC and laptop repair for home and business users. Together, we cover every major platform and every type of customer, from individuals with a single device to organizations with hundreds.

What's your service area?

We work with businesses throughout the Portland metro and Southwest Washington. Our team provides remote support from anywhere in the region and makes on-site visits across the Greater Portland area and Vancouver, WA. See our service areas page for a full list of cities and communities we cover.

What size businesses do you work with?

We work with small and mid-sized Portland businesses, typically from 5 to 150 employees. Some clients have a handful of devices; others have hundreds. The Launch Care managed IT plan scales with your business, and project work is scoped to your specific environment.

Launch Care & Pricing

What is Launch Care?

Launch Care is our managed IT plan for Portland businesses: a flat monthly fee per device that covers continuous monitoring, security and threat detection, asset tracking, and priority response from our local team. It's the predictable foundation layer most businesses need to keep their IT environment healthy. For full details, see the Launch Care page.

How much does Launch Care cost?

Launch Care is $35 per device per month. We publish the price because we believe in transparent pricing, which is uncommon among managed service providers. Devices typically include workstations (Mac and PC), laptops, and servers. Personal phones, peripherals, and passive network gear are generally not counted. We confirm the device count for your specific environment during onboarding.

What's included in Launch Care?

The Launch Care managed IT plan includes:

•      24/7 system monitoring with business-hours response

•      Security monitoring and threat detection

•      Antivirus and antimalware protection

•      Asset tracking

•      Operating system and application update monitoring

•      Ticketing and issue tracking

•      Online support portal access

•      Priority response and communication

What's NOT included in Launch Care?

Launch Care covers monitoring and detection. Hands-on work — including remediation, troubleshooting, project work, and on-site visits — is billed separately at our Service Rates. We provide estimates for project work up front. This separation keeps the monthly cost predictable for businesses and means you only pay for hands-on IT time when you actually need it.

Do you offer customized plans for complex environments?

Yes. Launch Care is our standard plan, but many clients have customized engagements that include additional services beyond the standard offering. If your environment has unusual compliance requirements, mixed platforms, or specialized infrastructure, we'll scope something that fits.

Is there a long-term contract or minimum commitment?

Launch Care is offered on a month-to-month basis. We don't lock clients into long-term contracts. Project work is scoped per engagement.

How We Work

How do clients submit support requests?

Clients submit requests through our online support portal at portal.launchtechgo.com. Email and phone are also available during business hours.

What are your business hours?

Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Pacific. System monitoring continues 24/7; hands-on response is during business hours unless an after-hours arrangement is in place.

Do you provide on-site IT support in Portland?

Yes. We make on-site visits throughout the Portland metro and Southwest Washington for project work, installations, network builds, office moves, and IT issues that require hands-on attention. On-site time is billed at our Service Rates.

Do you offer remote IT support?

Yes. Most issues can be resolved remotely from our Portland office, often faster than scheduling an on-site visit. Remote hands-on work is billed at our Service Rates.

What does the Launch Care onboarding process look like?

New clients typically begin with an environment assessment so we can understand your systems and workflows. We then deploy Launch Care monitoring, document your setup, and provide your team with portal access. Onboarding generally takes a few weeks depending on the size and complexity of your environment.

Can Launch Technologies work alongside our in-house IT person or team?

Yes. Co-managed IT is a common engagement model. Many clients have an internal IT person who handles day-to-day work, with Launch Technologies providing monitoring, escalation support, specialized expertise, and coverage during vacations and turnovers.

Apple, Windows & Compliance

Do you work with both Apple and Windows business environments?

Yes, with equal depth. Most Portland MSPs specialize in Windows; we're genuinely fluent in both. We're members of the Apple Consultants Network and hold Apple Technical Partner status, and we manage Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and PC environments at the same level of expertise. Whether your business runs on Apple, Windows, or a mix of both, we can support it.

Do you offer Mobile Device Management (MDM) for Portland businesses?

Yes. We deploy and manage Mobile Device Management across both Apple and Windows environments. For Apple businesses, we work with Apple Business Manager and Automated Device Enrollment (ADE) for streamlined deployment. MDM allows businesses to centrally manage policies, security, app distribution, and lost-or-stolen device protection across their fleet.

Can you support businesses with HIPAA, PCI, or other compliance requirements?

We work with Portland businesses in regulated industries including healthcare, legal, and professional services. While we're not a compliance certification body, we implement and manage the technical safeguards that support compliance frameworks: encryption, access controls, audit logging, secure backups, and patching. For specific compliance questions, we recommend working with your compliance officer or attorney alongside our team.

What's the difference between Launch Care and hiring an in-house IT person?

Most small and mid-sized businesses don't need a full-time in-house IT person. Launch Care provides a managed monitoring layer for a predictable monthly cost, with hands-on support available when needed. You get a team's worth of expertise without the salary, benefits, or hiring overhead. For businesses with very complex environments or 24/7 needs, an in-house person may still make sense, and we work alongside in-house IT teams in a co-managed arrangement.

What industries does Launch Technologies typically support?

We work with a range of Portland-area industries, including creative agencies, design studios, architecture and engineering firms, law firms, medical and dental practices, professional services, and nonprofits. The Apple-and-Windows dual fluency is especially valuable for businesses with mixed platform environments.
